Christian & Christian and is proud to announce that the South Carolina Board of Arbitrator and Mediator Certification has certified our own Attorney Richard Davis as a Circuit Court Mediator.
Presently, mediation of civil cases and many workers compensation cases is mandatory in South Carolina; most claims are settled without a trial. However, the resolution is reached only after a lengthy and expensive litigation process. Mediation can be an effective and cost efficient method of resolving civil cases.
In serving as a mediator, Attorney Davis can use his 30+ years of advocacy experience to work as a neutral third party to assist other parties working towards a resolution of their dispute. Mutual problem solving is the goal and mediation offers the litigants the opportunity to confidentially work together to find a mutually acceptable resolution in which they control the outcome—as opposed to placing their lives in the hands of a judge or jury.
Attorney Davis firmly believes that the mediation certification serves our firm’s clients as he gains greater experience in working with mediators and opposing counsel in cases pending with Christian & Christian.
Richard Davis is one of the firm’s managing partners and a dedicated advocate for injury victims in car accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse & neglect and other personal injury cases. With years of litigation experience in courts and administrative tribunals throughout South Carolina, and his extensive work before the SC Workers’ Compensation Commission and the Social Security Administration, he is well equipped to address the varied issues which arise in a mediation context.
Mr. Davis has attended the SC Civil Court Mediation Training Program as well as additional Continuing Legal Education programs on mediation. He has also served as a speaker on the topic of both the strategy and benefits of mediation and is AV® Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®.
